Jonathan Woo, MD
Dr. Jonathan (Jon) Woo was born and raised on Oahu where he attended Punahou School. He is a member of Mensa. He decided to go into the medical field when his father collapsed and died from a heart attack in a local ER waiting
room after complaining of chest pain. He wanted to help people not have to go through the same experience he did. He went on to attend Chapman University in Orange, CA on scholarship, where he majored in biochemistry & molecular biology graduating Summa Cum Laude. He was fortunate enough to return home for medical school at JABSOM graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors before completing a 4-year residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford. He has worked in a variety of hospitals including the Santa Clara Valley county medical center, Stanford University academic hospital, Kaiser Santa Clara community hospital, and various local hospitals on Oahu.
His interests include critical care, ultrasound, and optimizing clinical operations and technology in limited resource settings to help doctors take better care of
patients. He chose HEPA because of the diverse clinical experiences their hospital coverage offers and the superb group of doctors comprising it. He enjoys the less resourced critical access and community hospital work environment, as he feels he is able to fill a greater medical need in these places.
Dr. Woo is very happy to return home with his wife and 3 cats to serve the people
of Hawaii. Outside of work his primary hobbies include video games, fitness, and
reviewing curated TikToks provided by his wife.
