Alexander S. Berk, MD
Alexander Berk, MD FACEP began his medical career at Tufts University School of Medicine. He started his career in Pediatrics, completing an Internship at the National Capital Consortium Pediatric Residency Program in Washington DC. Two months into his internship September 11th happened. As a US Navy Medical Officer he then spent the next 5 years as a Fleet Marine Force Warfare Medical Officer with combat tours in Iraq. After his military service he completed residency including a Chief Resident year at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He has worked clinically at Broward General Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL as well as faculty positions at the University of Florida EM Residency in Jacksonville FL and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Berk joined HEPA in 2012. He has worked at 4 different sites on three different islands. He has been the Education Director for Oahu for the past 10 years precepting 40-60 medical students, interns and emergency medicine residents annually. With a sports medicine background, he is the medical director for the Honolulu Marathon Association supervising the medical support for the 4th largest marathon in the United States. Dr. Berk is currently the Director of the Emergency Department at Adventist Health Castle. He is married to the VP of Medical Affairs Dr. Jacobson and enjoys his time with her and his two incredible sons Max and Jack.
