Katherine Heinzen Jim, MD

Dr. Kate Heinzen Jim has been with HEPA since July 2006. Originally from Wisconsin, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Marquette University. After teaching English in Kyoto, Japan and high school science in Hawaii for several years, she earned her M.D. at University of Hawaii John A Burns School of Medicine. She completed residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Emergency Medicine where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Heinzen has served as both the assistant medical director and medical director of Adventist Health Castle Emergency Department. She was HEPA’s Vice President of Operations from 2016 through 2023. She works clinically at Oahu sites and also works occasionally at the Hyperbaric Treatment Center. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, traveling, and spending time with her family and Goldendoodle.
